Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to protect and restore marine plant ecosystems around the world. We believe that by focusing on these often-overlooked elements of marine life, we can make a significant impact on the health of the oceans and the global environment.

I am Jinseok (Andrew) An, a year12 student in NLCS Jeju. Although I was born in Busan, I came to Jeju in 2020 and am still living in Jeju. Since I first came to Jeju, I have been deeply interested in the environment of Jeju. The fresh air, lots of trees, warm temperature, and everything looks like it is the best place for the animals to live. The experience on the coast was also fascinating. The coast of Jeju was also a beautiful place for both people to visit and animals to live. One day, however, I heard news about degrading nature and coastal organisms in Jeju. This news made me very concerned, and this concern triggered me to start this project.

Why Marine Plants?
Marine plants are essential to the balance of our oceans. They provide food and shelter for marine life, help to stabilize coastlines, and play a key role in mitigating climate change by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide. Despite their importance, these plants are frequently threatened by human activity, pollution, and the changing climate.
What We Do
Our work encompasses a wide range of activities, from scientific research and conservation projects to education and advocacy. We collaborate with scientists, local communities, governments, and other organizations to develop and implement strategies that protect and restore marine plant ecosystems. Through our efforts, we aim to ensure that these vital ecosystems continue to thrive for generations to come.
Join Us
We believe that everyone has a role to play in protecting the oceans. Whether you’re interested in volunteering, donating, or simply learning more about marine plants, we invite you to join us in our mission. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for the health of our oceans and our planet.
Countless marine species. They play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our oceans and contribute to global environmental health by sequestering carbon, stabilizing shorelines, and supporting biodiversity.
Despite their importance, marine plants face significant threats from human activities such as coastal development, pollution, and climate change. Understanding and protecting these vital plants is key to preserving the health of our oceans and the planet as a whole.

About Us
1st Generation Leader:
June Kim & Jean Kim
We are students from North London Collegiate School Jeju, class of 2025. Living on Jeju island for five years, we have been deeply influenced by the breathtaking landscapes, clean air, and seas of Jeju, all of which have enriched our lives.
We are scuba-diving enthusiasts. The opportunity to scuba dive in the waters of Jeju has allowed us to engage directly with the underwater world and to appreciate the often-overlooked beauty of aquatic plants and ecosystems hidden beneath the surface. Through various diving experiences around Jeju, we have gained a unique perspective on the life forms that silently support the environment, deepening our understanding of the crucial roles these organisms play in maintaining ecological balance beneath the waves. As passionate marine enthusiasts, we are deeply committed to protecting marine ecosystems.
