The Natural Landscape of Jeju Island

Images of Jeju Island's coastline and interior landscapes reflect the region's ecological richness and visual appeal. Volcanic rock formations, clear shorelines, and diverse vegetation characterize much of the island's environment.

These scenes offer a reference point for understanding the importance of preserving natural coastal ecosystems and the value they hold for both residents and visitors.

Environmental Pressures on Jeju's Coast

Alongside its natural beauty, parts of Jeju's coastline are increasingly showing signs of environmental stress. waste accumulation, particularly in high-traffic tourist areas, has raised concerns about the health of marine ecosystems and the island's visual landscape. The presence of debris not only affects habitat quality but also has implications for tourism and long-term coastal management.

In light of these concerns, Save Ocean Forest was created as an initiative to raise awareness about coastal pollution and promote sustainable practices on Jeju Island.

The Visual Archive is regularly updated to reflect ongoing monitoring, research insights, and the evolving nature of marine pollution around the world.
